Considered design and fast pages are not in tension. Restraint is the rare discipline that serves both at once.

Jonas Lindqvist
Design Engineer

We take weeks to choose a typeface and argue for days about a shade of grey. Then the page loads in under a second. These two facts are not a contradiction — they are the same value applied twice.
Weight is a design decision
Every hero video, every font weight, every animation library is a promise the user’s connection has to keep. Treating performance as an engineering afterthought means design writes cheques the network cannot cash.
We put a weight budget next to the moodboard from day one. It is astonishing how much sharper the design thinking gets when every element has to argue for its kilobytes.
Restraint compounds
One typeface family, two weights, subset to the languages we ship.
Motion driven by the compositor, never by loading another library.
Images sized for their container, not for an imaginary billboard.
Third-party scripts treated as guests — few, vetted, and observed.
Speed is not a technical metric. It is how respect for the visitor feels in the hand.
Fast is a feeling
Users do not read waterfall charts. They feel whether a site answers immediately or hesitates. That feeling settles within the first second and colors every impression after it — including how good the design looks.
Slow design, fast web: take your time making decisions, so the visitor never has to give you theirs.
Let’s talk.
